If I'm ever lucky enough to win the lottery, I'm going to send a skein of silk to every stitcher I know just so they can try it guilt-free at least once :)

@ Stitcher S: It's amazing that you actually stitched a Lady Elizabeth afghan, that is so cool! I stitched a Lady Elizabeth afghan, and it took me 24 years to finish it. I don't worry about the back--it is what it is. For now the afghan hangs on a chair in our bedroom. I used to stitch with silks a lot, but they've just become too expensive to justify now. I'm perfectly content to use the silks that I have in my stash now and kitting up future designs with cotton. :) Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14360696870772219311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420053805409977271.post-27741260012474881882016-04-22T12:58:03.941-02:302016-04-22T12:58:03.941-02:30Hello! I love how you stitched the two birds just the some way with the variegation in the threads. Very cool.
I have also stitched with silks but I never order them for a project. I just love my DMCs :) But I had kits that contained silk threads instead of cotton floss. And it was really nice to use the silks.Brigittehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03922122091202289138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420053805409977271.post-62102498315610730132016-04-19T11:26:50.368-02:302016-04-19T11:26:50.368-02:30Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a co...Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.
this turned out beautiful. The expense keeps me from using them more but some projects are extra special and deserve them.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15255369612614393695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420053805409977271.post-35037405249737882282016-04-18T16:07:34.852-02:302016-04-18T16:07:34.852-02:30Thanks for taking part in GG this month.
This is ...Thanks for taking part in GG this month.

This is a beautiful design and I love the way you described how you got the two sides to match so well. Very clever!

Funnily enough I was using silk at the weekend. I don't often use it because of the cost in the UK and the fact that I have a full set of DMC (finally!). I don't mind it, it's not difficult to stitch with but I don't get excited about it the way some people do. I get more excited about the variegated threads (of either silk or cotton) to be honest, and I love this one you used!Jo who can't think of a clever nicknamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02663450738390351663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420053805409977271.post-41955520749797983002016-04-18T08:43:06.994-02:302016-04-18T08:43:06.994-02:30What a beautiful finish, gorgous silk thread. What a beautiful finish, gorgous silk thread. The Knitting Cross Stitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17190571521286637417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420053805409977271.post-90266182581897163502016-04-18T02:32:29.721-02:302016-04-18T02:32:29.721-02:30I enjoyed reading about your success with silk - I...I enjoyed reading about your success with silk - I have always been afraid to try silk thread, but maybe I should be brave and give it a go.
